Video Transcript for Review of Blue Ox Replacement Spring Bars SwayPro Weight Distribution System 1000LB - BXW4007

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at these replacement spring bars for your Blue Ox SwayPro weight distribution system. So these replacement spring bars are indeed going to fit and work with your SwayPro weight distribution systems. These bars have a tongue weight from 750 pounds up to 1,000 pounds. And as you probably know, Blue Ox uses a simple dot marking system to show the tongue weight capacity of each spring bar.

So zero dots means your bar is good up to 350 pounds. One dot means up to 550 pounds. Two dots means up to 750 pounds. So these bars, they have three dots, so that means that these bars are good up to 1,000 pounds. Again, for the three dots there.

The four dots mean 1500 pounds, and then the five dots mean up to 2,000 pounds. So again, these bars have three dots. So that indicates that these bars are rated up to 1,000 pounds of tongue weight, and that dot system is pretty cool because it's gonna make it very easy to identify the correct set of bars for your load without needing to look up part numbers or anything like that. This does include everything that you see here. You're going to get these two spring bars, the lift chains, and then hardware that has the chains attached to these bars.

These are directly from Blue Ox, so of course what that means for you is you're not gonna have to worry about compatibility issues, fitment issues, or anything like that with your SwayPro. Since these are directly from the manufacturer, they're gonna have zero issues with compatibility or fitment. Now, if you happen to have any other additional questions that I did not address for you during our time together, don't hesitate to reach back out to us. Ultimately, we wanna be sure that you're getting exactly what you want and need. Well, that's gonna wrap up our quick look today.

I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

I had changed trailers, and needed different Spring Bars in a hurry for a trip.
etrailer.com had the parts on the shelf and shipped them the same day I ordered them. They arrived two days later, perfect timing.
The Blue Ox SwayPro Spring Bars were in great shape when they arrived and installed quickly, as designed.
Blue Ox is my go to hitch products brand.

by:

I was a tad nervous because it's a very old hitch but fit perfectly and VERY timely delivery.

For the F-150, Ford recommends load distribution bars for all trailer towing 5000 lbs and over. I purchased the Blue Ox Weight distribution System as was recommended by etrailer. I ordered two sets of bars, a1000# set for loads under 5000#s and a 1500# set for when my trailer is loaded to the max which is 12,000#. I am now able to dial in the exact combination needed to keep my truck level and tracking true no mater how my trailer is loaded. I can now easily tow light and heavy loads at 65MPH with out the fear of excessive sway. Thank you etrailer for solving my trailer sway problems.

I am still very impressed with this trailer hitch set up. I now have a 2018 Ford Raptor . Ford has reduced the towing capabilities of this 450 hp truck to only 8000 because of the extra soft suspension set up. I can still tow 7500 at 65 mph with out fear of sway problems.

Blue Ox is the BEST weight distribution and anti-sway system on earth. Much easier and smoother than others. Bought a heavier trailer and got heavier bars. Plug and play. Highly recommend also buying a tongue scale as all my buddies use mine now and everyone has been surprised how much heavier their tongue weight is compared to what they thought.

Still awesome! No issues and my buddies who saved money on cheaper systems are figuring out they should have bought the Blue Ox. No problem reversing, change bars for different trailer weights, easier daily use, and better sway control. Very happy with this purchase.

E-Trailer was very quick to deliver the new 1000 lb spring bars and they were exactly as advertised. I have used them several times and my trailer sway has been reduced to a manageable level.

I put .10,000 miles on the new bars with the heavier trailer this year...not a single issue..tows like a dream!

by:

I have been using the original Blue Ox Sway Pro since 2011. It was a different design that used heavy round spring bars. Over time they bent so I wanted to replace them. Turned out that the modern (flat) spring bars will not quite fit into the old head, so I decided to buy the newer head. I was told by trailer that the part that is connected to the trailer A frame (the latch) would accept the chains on these new spring bars. Not so. The new bars angle down at a much steeper angle and made it impossible to use my old latches. So I had to buy them with a separate order. After all was said and done, I am happy with the new modern hitch...but I would add that it's really no better than the original.

by:

The sway bars arrived well packaged with no damage. I was able to use and test the bars when I picked up my new trailer and towed approximately 350 miles back home. The bars performed as Blue Ox advertised. etrailer has always been attentive to you and the product purchased. The staff is professional and knowledgeable. I have purchased other products from etrailer with the same excellent service.
I am a repeat customer.

by:

Recommended by Blue Ox. etrailer service outstanding as usual.

by:

Not much can be said about a couple of spring bars. i needed heavier bars because I changed to a trailer with a heavier tongue weight. The eTrailer price was excellent with fast and free shipping. Very happy with their web site and service.

by:

Received my 1000 lbs replacement Blue Ox spring bars in a reasonable amount of time. The bars did the trick for the larger travel trailer I recently purchased. I'm pleased with the quality of service and product.

by:

Service was excellent and delivered. As stated it was easy to get the parts I needed. Thank you.

by:

Exactly what I needed and got it on time.. Thanks etrailer.

We had 750lb bars but our tongue weight exceeded that weight so I bought the 1000lb bars and now they transferred the weight needed to the steering axles and the truck performs much better.

by:

Great system, glad to get the right bar s.

by:

Heavier bars for a heavier trailer. Just right. Customer service with etrailer is wonderful!

by:

After doing some research I discovered that my weight bars were potentially too heavy(heaver is not always better) so I ordered these lower weight bars to be more in the proper weight range. I'm hoping this will improve my control even more.
also,very efficient,fast shipping and communication!!!
Thank You

by:

We purchased a bigger trailer and needed the more heavy-duty bars for our Blue Ox. Our order was promptly received and has worked well. We are happy with this purchase.

Great system. Huge difference in towing. etrailer delivered earlier then promised. Appreciate the great price and customer service.

  • Will MORryde RV Cargo Sliding Tray Add To Trailer Tongue Weight
It really depends on the design of your trailer. I would expect the # MR69FR to add to the tongue weight but it may not be the full 139 lbs. However, if you're telling me that your dry tongue weight is already higher than the rating of the # BXW0753 then it is safe to say you should go ahead and upgrade the spring bars, especially if you're adding the sliding tray. The next size up has a tongue weight range of 750-1,000 lbs so it will be more effective than what you're using now. You...

  • Do Nuts of Spring Bar U-Bolts on Blue Ox Sway Pro Need Torque
Due to the spring tension of the spring bars pulling hard on the nuts of the u-bolts you would not have to worry about torqueing them down. As long as the nuts are threaded on they won't go anywhere. Hand tight would be all that's needed.

  • Can Blue Ox SwayPro WD Hitch Be Upgraded To Heavier Spring Bars?
Hello Christopher, thanks for reaching out. Yes, you can use the Replacement Spring Bars # BXW4007 to upgrade the capacity of your Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution Hitch # BXW0750. All of the SwayPro hitches use the same head unit, and Blue Ox actually designed this WD system with this in mind. You can upgrade/downgrade the capacity as needed by simply swapping out the bars. The head unit and frame brackets are the same. What kind of trailer are you using this on?

I'm glad you trust us, and we can definitely help you out so you can enjoy your voyage instead of being understandably anxious about the sway. While there is always going to be at least a bit of sway, it should not be to the degree you were describing, and the reason you are experiencing that is because the spring bars for your Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution Hitch # BXW0750 are not rated high enough. That system is designed for total tongue weights (TTW) between 550 lbs and 750 lbs,...

The reason long bars on weight distribution (WD) systems, like the Strait-Line # RP66074, are so popular is because that means the clamps for the trailer frame will sit about 30" away from the coupler.
